Google.org, the philanthropic branch of Google, has unveiled a $20 million initiative aimed at supporting non-profit organizations engaged in developing generative AI technologies. The launch of the “Google.org Accelerator: Generative AI” program will provide funding, technical guidance, workshops, and mentoring to 21 selected entities, including Quill.org, the World Bank, and Tarjimly.

Research conducted by Google indicates that a significant majority of non-profits recognize the potential benefits of generative AI technologies. However, nearly half of these organizations have not yet adopted this innovation due to challenges such as limited expertise and financial constraints. The primary objective of this initiative is to empower non-profit teams with generative AI tools to enhance their productivity and efficiency in serving their respective communities.
